Description

The consultant will be acting as Risk, Operations, ESG & Impact Officer. The Risk Officer (RO) is a senior executive responsible for overseeing and managing an organization’s risk management framework. The RO ensures that risks, including financial, operational, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks, are identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored. The role is crucial in fostering a culture of risk awareness and supporting decision-making processes aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  1. Articulation to staff of EG’s approach to risk and the embedding EG’s risk culture into EG’s operations.
  2. Oversight and implementation of EG’s risk framework and policies.
  3. Identification and assessment of all material risks at the level of EG and each Fund under management; risk assessment process helps the RO address emerging risks at an early stage and allows it to develop and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate the risks before they have an adverse effect on EG’s soundness or financial condition.
  4. Shaping the risk profile of proposed investments, including mitigation measures.
  5. Monitoring of risks in each Fund’s investments and recommendations for taking remedial actions where appropriate;
  6. Reporting to EG’s senior management and BoD on the risks faced by EG and each Fund under management as well as mitigation measures proposed or taken.
  7. Reporting to each Fund’s shareholders and relevant governing bodies on the risks faced by the Fund and actions taken or proposed to mitigate the risks.
  8. Collaboration with and reporting to appropriate external parties, including regulatory agencies.
  9. Independent periodic checking on proper implementation of the risk management framework and compliance with risk management policies and control procedures
  10. Assist in the implementation of the ESG and impact measurement framework
  11. Collaboration with and monitoring of stakeholders such as partners, insurers, consultants, investors and regulators
  12. Coordinate Operations, ESG and Impact with oversight of service providers, and key deliverables
